On Saturday, October 10 a peaceful Public Square Rally for America was held at noon outside Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. The rally was a joint effort between St. Mary Magdalen and Immacolata parishes.

The purpose was to pray for America, for peace in the world, and for the respect for all human life, from conception to natural death.

Approximately 250 people from Saint Mary Magdalen, Immacolata and surrounding parishes and the entire St. Louis metropolitan area joined together in the peaceful recitation of the Rosary on the street, led by Fr. Jack Siefert, pastor of Saint Mary Magdalen.

The event was very family friendly. Participants were of all ages. School children from Saint Mary Magdalen and Immacolata made signs with the theme of peace and promotion of respect for life, the two main themes of the rally.

Members of Immacolata’s American Heritage Girl Troop participating in the rally commented on how positive the experience was. Fr. Jack’s prayers traveled to the people in cars stopped at the intersection and many people honked, smiled and game “thumbs up” as they drove by or as they waited at the stoplight.
