Police: body wash, alcohol thefts

The following information was reported by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Feb. 22

  • Police were called to a Maplewood Commons business for a stealing in progress. Upon arrival, the suspect was located and found to be in possession of approximately $145 worth of men’s body wash. The suspect was arrested for stealing under $500.
  • Police began an identity theft investigation to assist resident. The fraudulent account was found to be opened using the victim’s pedigree without his/her authorization. This investigation is ongoing.

Tuesday, Feb. 23

  • Police were called U-Gas located at 3033 South Hanley Rd for a gas drive off. Upon arrival, police learned that the suspect vehicle, described as a 2010 Red, Chevrolet Impala 4-door Plate #SK8-R5B pumped approximately $24 worth of gas. The vehicle left the area without an attempt to pay for the gas.

Wednesday, Feb. 24

  • Police began a motor vehicle accident investigation in the 3200 block of Laclede Station, where one vehicle was reported to have left the scene. There is no suspect vehicle information at this time. This investigation is ongoing.

Sunday, Feb. 28

  • Police arrested an adult male suspect for stealing approximately $200 worth of alcohol from a Maplewood Commons business.
