Cops: Dewalt drills a popular theft item

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Aug. 26

  • Police began an investigation into a property damage to a vehicle that occurred in the 2100 block of Yale Avenue. The victim’s driver side car door was damaged during the early morning hours. This investigation is still on going.
  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a delayed stealing report.  During the preliminary stages of the investigation, police learned that one adult male suspect stole two Dewalt brand drills valued at approximately $315. The suspect is described as being between the ages of 45-55, wearing a gray shirt, heavy set, low haircut and gray facial hair. Upon accessing the surveillance footage, it was learned that following the theft the suspect entered into a brown/tan Ford Explorer and fled the area. This investigation is still on going.

Thursday, Aug. 27

  • Police were called to a Maplewood Commons business for a report of a larceny. Upon conducting a detailed investigation, police located an adult female suspect who was in possession of approximately $40 in miscellaneous items. The suspect was arrested for stealing under $500.
  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a delayed stealing report. Through investigation police learned that an adult male suspect tried to steal two Dewalt brand drills, however security was alerted to the theft and was able to strip the suspect of one of the drills. The suspect is described as 40-50 years old, wearing a plaid shirt and dark pants. This investigation is still on going.

Friday, Aug. 28

  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a stealing in progress. Upon arrival, police spoke with the asset protection officer and were able to gain vast knowledge of the incident. Police immediately took action and located an adult female suspect who was in possession of four bottles of vodka totaling approximately $115. The suspect was later arrested for stealing under $500.

Sunday, Aug. 30

  • A 23-year-old male suspect was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated near the intersection of South Hanley at Corcoran Drive.

  1. Asking about the race of those whom have done something of any nature that is reported is not racist. You dink ! But you suggesting this. Would be considered a Red Herring. If the reports were about something positive no one would have a problem with the information provided. Yes the information is in the report. I believe your Red Herring bodes toward the reality, which proves the facts, that are consistently being ignored about the crimes being committed in the area and the faces involved. Like it or not.
