Richmond Heights hires new public works director

The city of Richmond Heights hired a new public works director Monday, according to a press release.

Chris Boyd joins the city from CH2M Hill where he was a senior transportation engineer who managed and designed transportation projects for MODOT, IDOT, St. Louis County, and local municipalities, including Richmond Heights.

Chris BoydBoyd previously worked as an engineer at Cole & Associates and MACTEC Engineering. He is active in the Missouri chapter and the St. Louis branch of the American Public Works Association, serving as the current Missouri chapter treasurer/secretary.

Boyd has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology and maintains a professional engineer license.

Bruce Murray, the city’s previous public works director, retired earlier this year. Assistant Public Works Director Mark Palecek had been the interim head of the department.
