Richmond Heights officials, in a Monday council meeting, gave Mullenix Richmond Heights Redevelopment Corporation a couple months extension—until Dec. 31, according to city manager, Amy Hamilton—to secure financing and hotel brand, and submit a plan for review for the southeast corner of Clayton Road and Brentwood Boulevard.
The corporation built Homewood Suites by Hilton, near the corner, but was unable to secure financing for a Westin hotel and parking garage at Clayton and Brentwood in 2010, according to The St. Louis Business Journal. The cost to finish the project at the time was $40 million.
