The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a St. Louis County judge, Associate Circuit Judge Lawrence J. “Larry” Permuter, was arrested on New Year’s Eve for allegedly driving while intoxicated, according to police records.

Permuter, 68, owns a condominium in Richmond Heights, public records show.

Police were called to an accident on Highway 40 near Big Bend Boulevard on New Years Eve at 2:39 p.m. according to records. Details are unclear, the Post-Dispatch says. Both police and Permuter declined to comment.

A Richmond Heights city staffer refused to tell the Post-Dispatch if Permuter was facing charges in municipal court, saying a reporter would have to request the information under open records laws.
