The shop will be located at 7310 Manchester Road, in the former T. Rohan Interior Design store, according to  the new store’s owner, Brian Pelletier, in an email on Friday.

Pelletier is also the owner of Kakao Chocolate, in Maplewood.

Larder & Cupboard will focus on new and unique foods, ranging from condiments and sauces to jams and preserves to pasta, grains, desserts and snacks. Staff will scout out small, independent producers, as well as Good Food Award and Sofi Award winning products.

A key offering of the shop will be a cheese selection with American Cheese Society and World Cheese Award winners.

The store will be managed by Cindy Higgerson, known in social media circles as @MCharcuterie, a passionate food lover with a knack for location hard-to-find products.

“Maplewood has a great walkable food-shopping district with spices, tea, oils and vinegars, and chocolate, not to mention Strange Donuts and Pie Oh My,” Pelletier said. “Especially with the new Bolyard’s Meat and Provisions opening this fall, Larder & Cupboard will complete the foodie puzzle.”

Higgerson said the store will have a hand-picked selection of the best specialty foods available for cooking or for gift-giving.

“Food lovers coming to Maplewood will find a thoughtfully curated collection with interesting and sometimes surprising foods for professional chefs, home cooks, and people who love to eat great food,” she said.

The store is slated to open in October.
