Brandi S. Givens, 24, of St. Louis, was charged with a Class C felony for stealing over $500 at the Brentwood Promenade Target store on Oct. 16, 2015.

According to police and court records, Givens removed the UPC price codes from items in the “dollar section” and placed them on other, more expensive items. She then took the merchandise to a checkout aisle. The merchandise — which should have come a total of $827 — rang up at a total of $26. Givens paid the reduced price and took the items out of the store but was apprehended by security guards. The merchandise was recovered.
