Maplewood Design and Review OK’d signs for two businesses opening in Maplewood — one within weeks and one later in the year.
Smitty’s Bar & Grill will take over 7278 Manchester Road, where A Pizza Story has operated for about a year and a half. Smitty’s co-owner Jim Quicksilver has said he hopes to open in two to three weeks. The sign was approved.
The signage for Twin Peaks, taking the former Olive Garden location, was also approved. Twin Peaks features waitresses wearing lumberjack-plaid two-piece outfits.
- A Pizza Story closing; new owners to open Smitty’s Food & Drink
- Smitty’s to open in 2-3 weeks: owner
- ‘Hooters-like’ restaurant set to open in Maplewood
Design and review also approved a rear addition to a house on Marietta Avenue and an addition (pending modifications) to a house on Cambridge Avenue.
I hope Smitty’s takes over where The Wood lost it’s battle to The Muddled Pig (Bring back The Wood, please). I think The wood should of stayed. especially now that its Hockey Playoff season. Do we know anything about the pub scene there? Thanks.
I liked The Wood but it was never as busy as The Post on game nights.
