Both Brentwood and Maplewood Richmond Heights school districts will be closed on Tuesday, extending winter break another day, thanks to almost a foot of snow and fridgid temperatures.
Brentwood Superintendent of Schools David Faulkner
— the only one at the administration office — said Monday’s dangerously low temperatures prevented workers from clearing enough snow from around the schools.
He also said streets in St. Louis are in worse condition than locally, and since approximately 20 percent of Brentwood students are bused from there, Faulkner said it’s easier to make up the days.
MRH states on its website that due to concerns about bus stop safety, road conditions, and dangerous wind chills, all MRH schools will be closed on Tuesday. That includes all Discover Club activities at the ECC and Elementary School, and after-school athletic events.
