The community relations manager for Richmond Heights, Mary Binns, has announced in a press release the hiring of Celeste Grayer, the social services coordinator for the cities of Maplewood and Richmond Heights.

The cities of Richmond Heights and Maplewood have jointly welcomed Celeste Grayer, MSW, as their new Social Services Coordinator. Based at THE HEIGHTS Community Center, Celeste will assist residents by connecting them with housing, financial, and other essential services; fostering partnerships with local organizations; coordinating emergency assistance; and referring individuals to licensed professionals for specialized care. While not a clinical provider, she will serve as a trusted navigator and advocate, ensuring community members have timely access to the resources and support they need.

Celeste Grayer is a social worker and in her free time, a multi-disciplined artist. A graduate of both the University of Missouri St. Louis and St Louis University, Celeste combines her artistry and passion for the community by mentoring young artists and exposing urban youth to various art forms.

She has worked 20+ years for several organizations and nonprofits including St. Louis Public Schools, New Sunny Mount Baptist Church, St. Louis Artist Guild, Link STL, Art Goes North, and The Delmar Loop. She also organizes community wide events and serves on the board of directors for Shoe Fly and St. Louis Artist Guild.

Ms. Grayer began with us on Monday, September 22, 2025. She is honored and excited to take on this new role supporting the cities of Maplewood and Richmond Heights and we are thrilled to have her!

  1. Mr. Joe Butler you are a rude bum who sits behind a screen with no contributions to the community. How nice of you to share with the world how miserable you are.

  2. What a rude, unfounded comment Mr. Butler. Ms Grayer’s experience makes her very well qualified for the job. I wish her success!

We are happy to have you.

    • Seriously? Wow. Nice way to welcome someone into the community and into a critical role for some of our citizens. Dismissing someone before they even start a position seems unfair at best.

    • Wow, Mr. Butler – what’s wrong with you?! She has a master’s in social work and a ton of relevant experience. She sounds like a great hire to me.
