Brentwood resident Steve Lochmoeller has filed his candidacy for the Ward 3 aldermanic seat. He filed on Dec. 16, the first day of filing.

Lochmoeller sent a press release to 40 South News Monday:

Steve Lochmoeller, candidate alderman Ward 3, Brentwood
Steve Lochmoeller, candidate alderman Ward 3, Brentwood

Steve has lived in Brentwood for the past 29 years.  First, in Brentwood Forest and, presently, on Madge Avenue where he resides with his wife Mary Jo and two daughters.  Their children attend Brentwood public schools.

“Over the past two years, I have attended Board of Alderman, Planning and Zoning, and various committee meetings.  As a result, I have gained an understanding of the function of the Board of Alderman within city government. I am ready to serve the people of Ward 3 and the city.”

  • I advocate for fiscal conservancy – that keeping costs under control will serve us well going forward.
  • I believe in open government- that the authority of the Mayor and the Board to run the city is granted to them BY THE PEOPLE.
  • I oppose rezoning residential property for commercial use.
  • I desire to see improvements to the Manchester Road corridor.
  • I look forward to knocking on doors and introducing myself to as many Ward 3 residents as I can reach.  I want the needs of residents to be the highest priority at City Hall.  When I meet you, I will be asking what you like best and what you like least about Brentwood.  With your input, together, we can make a difference.

  1. I like your ideas Steve! Especially regarding the City of Brentwood being an Open Government. Maureen Saunders has strived to have transparency in our government, and has been fought every inch of the way by our Mayor and some Aldermen. Hopefully things will change with more people like you serving the citizens of Brentwood!
