Update:
The 40-year-old woman who reported the theft was charged with filing a false police report on Oct. 10. When investigators spoke with her, she admitted that she lied about her purse being stolen from her front porch on Oct. 3. The woman said she actually lost her purse several days before Oct. 3 in another city but could not recall where due to her consumption of alcohol at the time.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on Thursday that Traci Granger is the 40-year-old woman, of the 7200 block of Lyndover Place, who reported her purse stolen on Oct. 3.
