MRH won last year's district championship.

Here’s a wrap-up of government, sports and community events for the coming week.

In Brentwood:

The Brentwood Ice Arena will reopen on Tuesday, after its annual month-long maintenance.

The Brentwood Ways and Means Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Coffee with Brentwood Mayor Pat Kelly is Friday 9-10 a.m.

In Maplewood:

The Maplewood City Council meets Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at city hall, and will consider these and other items on the agenda.

  • A public hearing on Community Development Block Grant Funds for $64,000 that will become available after Jan. 1, 2015.
  • An ordinance allowing Shur Way Auto Body to operate at an additional location on St. Elmo Avenue. Planning and Zoning voted unanimously to reject the request.
  • Transferring $100,000 to the general fund for planning and development of the new fire house.
  • Final council action on various parking restrictions, including compact vehicle parking only on the east side of Sutton Boulevard (one space) at Marietta Boulevard.
  • A bill to allow public works and contractors to use all terrain vehicles on city streets.

Maplewood Richmond Heights baseball will play its sectional game Monday against St. Pius X at Deer Creek Park at noon. MRH beat Brentwood in the district final 5-3.

Many businesses are closed or have reduced hours on Memorial Day: here’s some of them.

In Richmond Heights:

The only city event scheduled is municipal court on Monday.
