Dr. Allie Foddrill, DC, owner of The Well Yard, a new business at 2741 Sutton Boulevard, in Maplewood, said she is a chiropractor by trade, but saw a gap between practicing as a chiropractor and a physical therapist.
At a chiropractor’s office, “Typically you’re in and out in five minutes and you get a great adjustment,” she said. “And then you have physical therapy. And on that end you’re getting a lot of exercise and things like that. And I saw that they were so great together.”
“I adjust like a chiropractor, but also practice a lot like a PT, doing a lot of rehab,” Foddrill said. “And the whole goal is that I don’t want to see you for the rest of your life. I hope you enjoy me enough to come back and say hi, but ultimately I want you to graduate from me and go on and lead a pain-free life.”
She said throughout school she studied at the Living Room (2810 Sutton Boulevard), and always looked out the window and thought, “This would be such a beautiful street to have a practice on. And then I saw a little ‘for lease’ sign on the corner of this building, and I thought, oh my gosh, this is it! And so I jumped on it.”
She’s been there for about a month and says it’s been amazing. Foddrill said that she was told that Maplewood is a great place for a small business because the residents love to support the local businesses.
Foddrill graduated from Logan University and has worked with university-level and professional athletes. Read more about her experiences here, from Logan University’s website.
