Thefts in Brentwood, Maplewood: police

In Brentwood, Cicely A. Moore, 35, of St. Louis, has been charged with stealing over $500 for a theft at the Nordstrom Rack on Sept. 16, 2015.

Moore selected several items, valued at $675, hid them in her purse, and walked out of the store without trying to pay. A witness obtained a license number of her car. The same witness identified her from a photo lineup. Moore was arrested several months later. She viewed a photograph taken from surveillance video and said the person in the photo “could be” her. She admitted that at the time of the theft, she was stealing from various stores to support her heroin habit. She was held on $5,000 bond.

In Maplewood, Jenna Marie Rodgers, 19, of St. Louis, has been charged with stealing over $500 in the theft of a mobile phone at the U-Gas station at 3033 S. Hanley Road on Jan. 20, according to police and court records.

An employee of the gas station reported that her mobile phone, valued at $700, was stolen from off the counter. Surveillance video showed a woman reaching over the counter, grabbing the victim’s phone, and driving off. The car was registered in  Rodgers’ name, and the victim identified a photo of the defendant as the person who had taken her phone. She said she had taken the phone to the Saint Louis Galleria and sold it at a phone recycling kiosk inside the mall. Rodgers was held on $5,000 bond.
