Tim Hortons is on schedule to open June 23 in Maplewood, according to a representative, and they appear to be overcoming hurdles to meet the date.
The project was caught with unfinished brick work when the brick layers union (Local Union 1) went on strike at the end of May. The work is complete now. Tim Hortons representative Tina Bryan said the work was finished by “an independent union contractor who already signed a new contract with Bricklayers Local 1.”
Also, workers may have been on the location earlier than Maplewood allows. A notice from the city dated June 11 was posted warning that a court summons will be issued for any workers onsite before 7 a.m.
