Some Maplewood residents objected to a 24-hour drive-through at the now open Tim Hortons at 2750 S. Big Bend. Town and Country residents told their aldermen they didn’t want a proposed Tim Hortons with a drive-through that closed at 11 p.m. In the end the aldermen Monday voted down a plan that combined a Tim Hortons within a bank and a two-story office building, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
About a hundred residents came to the meeting, and 15 spoke. They said noise, traffic, lights and children in the neighborhood were why the development should not be approved.

The proposed site is at Ballas and Clayton roads. It once held a gas station but is now vacant. A gas station and offices are on the other three corners.

Developer Chris Pelligreen said after the meeting that his group would not be back with a new plan.

  1. When Tim Horton’s was applying for a permit in Maplewood, the 24 hour drive thru was a non-negotiable must. Funny, in Town and Country, they only needed to be open until 11 PM.
Tim Horton’s pulled a bluff on Maplewood, and Maplewood blinked!
And the adjoining neighbor is the looser.

    • Good for them!!! #2 , I agree too,
Maplewood made a mistake with it and a few other things… they did not need another Corporate donut shop … they should have fixed the QT and McD’s vacant messes instead…
