Terrance Brown, Brennan Jenkins, and Omar Jordan, all 24 and from St. Louis, conspired to steal more than $500 worth of merchandise from the Maplewood Walmart, according to police and court reports.

On Nov. 22, Jenkins selected 28 bottles of liquor at the store and put them into a shopping cart. He then met up with Brown and Jordan, who had a suitcase from elsewhere in the store. They put the liquor inside the suitcase, then put other items from the store in the suitcase too.

Jordan was stopped at the door by Maplewood police, who had responded to the report of the theft in progress. Jenkins and Brown tried to push the shopping cart out the exit without paying. Jenkins ran out of the store but collided with a police car, fell down, and was arrested. Brown ran back into store and was arrested.

Jordan denied involvement in the theft, claiming he had placed one electronic item in the cart, then realized he didn’t have enough money to pay for it; he claimed he was going out to get money from his car. Jenkins admitted he and his cohorts were at the Walmart to steal merchandise. Brown refused to make a statement.

The three were charged with stealing over $500.
