Maplewood City Council at its meeting scheduled for Tuesday is set to vote on a liquor license for Twin Peaks, installing electricity infrastructure on Sutton Boulevard for outdoor events, a sign for a new Porsche dealership and Maplewood’s second approved Airbnb.
On the agenda:
- A public hearing and a motion to approve a request for Twin Peaks to be located at 2351 Maplewood Commons for a full and Sunday liquor license.
- A resolution declaring the results of the general election held on April 5 as official.
- A resolution to accept a bid of $25,150 for electrical infrastructure for community events along Sutton Boulevard south of Manchester. The up-front costs will save the city money in the long run, providing electricity for events on Sutton.
- A resolution granting a ground sign for Porsche St. Louis at 2970 S. Hanley Road that exceed the height and area requirements.
- An ordinance granting a conditional use permit to Lamira Martin to allow short term rentals at 7433 Zephyr Place. Plan and zoning has approved this and it’s ready for final council action. This would be Maplewood’s second approved Airbnb.

I look forward to Twin Peaks opening. I’m there for the food. I’ve seen less clothing on tv…..if the food is great, all the better. Get over it people & welcome a new restaurant to Maplewood!
LOL. So you say, but is there even a menu out there to peruse for those of us interested in dining out…on actual food?
Ralf, Twin Peaks is a chain restaurant. Its menu is widely available online. A simple Google search for “Twin Peaks menu” yields several results.
I’ve always been under the impression that there were no tax incentives when Walmart moved into Maplewood.
The story as I recall is that Costco was interested and Wal-mart was willing to waive their large TIF request.
So I did a little internet searching and found a really great article that indeed states hat Wal-Mart originally wanted a $30M TIF for the deal to move-in but dropped that request.

Can we rename the Maplewood Commons? Maybe something like “Brentwood Commons” or “Richmond Heights Commons” would work.
We’ll take it in Brentwood if we get the tax revenue that these perfectly legal businesses generate (understanding that they may not be generating any tax revenue yet).
