Three League of Women Voters (LWV) candidates forums will take place in our area in March. In Brentwood forums will be held for mayor and the school board race. In Maplewood a forum will be held for the mayoral candidates.
Barry Greenberg and Patrick Jugo, candidates for mayor of Maplewood, will take part in a League of Women Voters forum on March 7 at 7-9 p.m. at the MRH High School Theatre.
Candidates for mayor of Brentwood, Chris Thornton and Barbara Clements will take part in a LWV forum on March 13 at 7-9 p.m. at the Brentwood School District conference room. Candidate, Louise Charboneau has passed on. Thornton has told the LWV he would participate, though hasn’t confirmed with 40 South, the event sponsor.
Six candidates are running for three seats on the Brentwood Board of Education. The forum, sponsored by the school board is set for March 9 at 7-9 p.m. at the Brentwood District Conference Room, 1201 Hanley Industrial Court.

At a LWV forum, a volunteer from the organization asks the candidates questions from cards submitted by audience members. The candidates also have time for statements at the beginning and the end of the forum.
No election will be held for the MRH board of education; three seats are available and three candidates are running. They are: incumbents, Maria Langston, Francis Chmelir and Katie Kaufmann.
There are no municipal elections in Richmond Heights in April 2017.
