A chance meeting of 40 South News editor, Doug Miner and radio host, Donny Blake, on 1380 the X at Stone Spiral Coffee Tuesday morning resulted in Miner sitting in on Blake’s show about an hour later.

Blake knows Maplewood—he’s a Tiffany’s Diner regular—and seemed impressed that 40 South News was named the Riverfront Times ‘Best Local Website,’ so he invited Miner to his show.

Miner sat in with Blake and three others at the 1380am studio on Hampton Avenue and answered questions about Reeds American Table taking the previous Home Wine Kitchen space on Manchester Road, Links 19 taking the former Monarch restaurant spot on Manchester and Sutton, and other area news.

Blake, a one-time standup comic, he said, kept the pace moving.

Listen for Miner and 40 South News bits every Monday at 11 a.m. on radio station 1380am on Social X Live, hosted by Blake and Mandi Ray. Listen live at 1380thex.com.

Update: 1380 am has changed from talk radio to sports, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, so 40 South News will not be on the air.
