The Metropolitan Sewer District in May reported coming lane restrictions on Manchester Road at Bellevue Avenue as work laying pipes is to continue across Manchester and up Bellevue. The work began then halted, leaving steel plates on Manchester for the past month.
An MSD spokesperson now says MSD will meet with Maplewood city staff on Tuesday to walk through the changes and determine the traffic control necessary at the intersection.
The work is to proceed north on Bellevue, closing lanes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The lane restrictions will be done in 100-foot increments. The work is expected to last through the spring of 2017.
The installation of the larger sewer line is part of an ongoing effort to alleviate sewer overflows and basement backups throughout MSD’s service area.
Has anyone from the City of Maplewood asked the MSD why they constantly have delays? Or does the MSD get a free pass to work at their own pace and leave work partially done all the time?
Also, how far up Bellevue is the sewer work going to go?
I bet this work doesn’t get completed until 2018.
