Attorney Scott Rosenblum, arrested on suspicion of  DWI in Brentwood in April, told himself he drank too much, as he sat alone in an interview room

Rosenblum hit a pickup truck head-on with his Bentley in April. He pleaded guilty Monday to careless and imprudent driving resulting in an accident and improper lane usage. The DWI was dropped.

Sitting in the interview room, Rosenblum began talking to himself, according to STL Today.

“I screwed up,” he said to himself according to a transcript of his statements provided by Brentwood police. “I ought to learn not to drink so much.”

But Rosenblum quickly changed his story.

“I’m not going to take any tests … I was exhausted not (expletive deleted) up. I was exhausted I wasn’t drunk … I was just tired. I fell asleep.”

Brentwood Police Department recorded the conversation; the Post-Dispatch obtained the investigation report under Missouri’s Sunshine Law.

  1. Oh…………THOSE NASTY SUNSHINE LAWS REARING THEIR HEADS IN BRENTWOOD AGAIN?

Not to nag, but that is specifically the point at the 10/20 BOA meeting with my grievance list that fall entirely under ignoring the sunshine laws. I have never given a public “spanking” to administrators for substantive, patterned bad behavior. I was so upset speaking publically about the terrible track record, I shook like a leaf. It should have been private, but BOA was the only forum available.

So Mr. Mayor and Mr. City Attorney—what is the problem? You two specifically were the targets of that grievance. And now you do this. I used the word ‘administration’ in speaking, pulling the only diplomacy I could shove in. Now, this is over the top directed at you, using LAWS AND ORDINANCES at your convenience. Everybody makes errors, but you two need to have a state over-sight committee review your practices.

THANK YOU DOUG MINOR–FOR KEEPING THE CITY INFORMED ON THE MAL- PRACTICES OF GOVERNANCE OF OUR ADMINISTRATORS.

    • Also, when he refused to take a “test” isn’t that automatically a revocation of his driver’s license for a year? I think that’s a law. This gets messy, doesn’t it?

  2. How was he not charged with the DWI which would remain on his State criminal record? Is this a common among lawyers?

      • Hi Tom. Brentwood will hold elections I believe in April. We need to elect people who follow the laws and ordinances that have been so boldly by-passed. I see things much as Maureen Wheat described. No one is supposed to be above the law, exactly as you have stated.
