Brentwood, MRH college students honored

Three Brentwood and Maplewood Richmond Heights students who have gone on to college received recognition this week. The following are from press releases from McKendree University, Washington University in St. Louis and Missouri Baptist University.

Mariah Logan, a sophomore psychology major from St. Louis, is a member of the Avidity Independent A Winter Guard, which won a silver medal at the Mid Continent Color Guard Association finals for a second consecutive year. Winter guard performers bring music to life through their performances, which are judged on movement, design, equipment, timing and overall effect. In its few years of existence, Avidity has risen from newcomer status to among the best in the world and put McKendree University on the map in the world of indoor color guard competition.

Charles James Moore of Brentwood, was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2013 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Moore is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts and Sciences. To qualify for the Dean’s List in the College of Arts and Sciences, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.

William Reece, a student at Missouri Baptist University, has been inducted into Alpha Chi, a national coeducational honor society that promotes and honors academic excellence and exemplary character among university students. Members may be from any academic discipline but must be in the top 10 percent of the junior and senior classes. Reece is a senior from Maplewood, who is majoring in secondary education and social sciences.
