Building owner, tenant mum on new business

No one is saying what will move into 7213 Manchester.

The space at 7213 Manchester Road was unleased less than a month before the windows were covered and a Maplewood permit for a partial demolition went up.

So far no one is saying what the business will be.

The building owner said he’s been sworn to secrecy and the new tenant said by phone they’re not releasing information until the opening. The tenant also said it’s too early to say when the opening will be.

Update: city records show that this space will be a shop for e-cigarettes.

    • I hope four open up. your closed minded thinking is outdated. a liquor store and bars allowing people to get wasted is ok. but not a tattoo shop. just for that I may open one! I already own one not far away.

  1. they have to of provided the business information to the city of maplewood. they don’t issue a building permit on the basis of “will let ya know what we are when we open”

Rather than just citing the address when you refer to a given Maplewood/Brentwood businesses, any chance we could get you to put the location in its specific streetscape context? Something like: Business X, at 7215 Manchester, located between Business Y and Business Z… Give us the info Google Maps usually doesn’t.

Thanks for considering, and keep up the great work!

    • Sure, Yojimbo. I could add some context to the address so you won’t need to Google Map it next time. Thanks!

  3. If a building permit has been issued, there HAS been action by the city — maybe not by the City Council, but it is city action. An application for a building permit should be a public record.
