Concealed knife, marijuana possession lead to arrests: police

Monday, June 1

  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a stealing in progress. Following an in-depth investigation, police located one adult male and one adult female who were in possession of approximately $250 in stolen merchandise. All merchandise was returned to the business and both suspects were issued municipal summonses for stealing under $500.
  • Police were dispatched to the intersection of Bellevue Avenue at Lyndover Place for a verbal disturbance between an adult male and female subject. Upon arrival police located both subjects in question and engaged them in conversation in effort to help resolve their issues. While doing so, police observed a large bulge in the male subject’s front pants pocket. Further investigation led police to locate a large stainless steel folding knife. The male subject was later arrested for carrying a concealed weapon along with several active fugitive warrants.

Wednesday, June 3              

  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a delayed stealing report.  Through investigation, police learned that two unknown perpetrators had conducted several successful fraudulent returns totaling approximately $700 in miscellaneous merchandise. Police were able to review video surveillance and determine that the suspects arrived in a white Hyundai SUV (Missouri Plate KD5-B6A).  At this time police are still attempting identify both suspects.

Thursday, June 4

  • Police conducted a traffic stop in the 7300 of Manchester Road. Over the course of the traffic stop police discovered that the driver had a suspended drivers license along with numerous active fugitive warrants. A search of the driver led police to locate a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana in his front pants pocket.  The driver was subsequently arrested for possession of marijuana along with his fugitive warrants.
