Two retail locations on Manchester Road that have been empty since January may be getting tenants soon.

Dan Slavin, who now owns the building that Yokley’s Hair Salon and Three Rivers Aikido occupied for more than 20 years each, said Monday he has a letter of intent and expects to have a signed lease later this week for the former Yokley’s space. See also: 2 long-time Maplewood businesses lose lease

Slavin said the potential tenant is a retailer that sells candles, cards and novelties and have been in business 12 years in a different location, and have been successful. The space is approximately 2,400 square feet.

Another retailer, which Slavin said would be “good for Maplewood,” is looking at the former martial arts space, and if they don’t take it, he said he might subdivide it into two smaller spaces.
