Fort Taco, which opened last November at 8106 Manchester Road in Brentwood, is a “fast-food gem,” according to a Riverfront Times review. The tacos, enchiladas and tamales are are prepared to order, and the RFT reviewer said she was on her way five minutes after ordering.
“The tacos are described as “soft-shell,” but if this conjures up images of sad, limp paper-thin tortillas, never fear. The thick flour tortilla is a deep-fried, golden-brown pouf that sturdily cradles its generous contents,” the RFT states. The enchiladas are described as “transcendent.”

The reviewer’s only gripe was that no picnic tables or patio is available, because “eating such a delicious, filling meal crammed behind a steering wheel is so dissatisfying.” According to a comment on Twitter, Brentwood won’t allow a patio. Fort Taco is open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
