Brian Pelletier and Cindy Higgerson (follow her on Twitter at @Mcharcuterie) Friday were looking over the space that is their yet-to-open specialty food shop, Larder & Cupboard, at 7310 Manchester Road in Maplewood. Higgerson will manage the store.
Pelletier said the shop should open by November. “If we’re not open by November 1 we’ve got all kinds of problems,” he said. “Really, we have to do the plumbing and we have to get the final health inspection and the permits. There’s really not a lot of stuff we need to do.”
Butcher paper should cover the windows next week as they start filling the shop with inventory.

Pelletier said the inventory is coming from all over. “They’re a lot of small purveyors—people that aren’t working with a big distributor. It’s stuff that you can’t get anyplace else.”
Pelletier owns Kakao Chocolate, with locations in Maplewood, south St. Louis and Clayton.
Awesome addition to the neighborhood.
