The work on Manchester Road in Maplewood is due to be completed in late spring, according to Maplewood Director of Public Works Anthony Traxler.

The work is phase 3 (the final) of the Manchester Road improvement project, from Bredell Avenue to S. Hanley Road.

Reported in 40 South last year, in July 2014 Maplewood officials agreed to use $600,000 of $1.2 million the city received from its Hanley Road TDD (Transportation Development District) to pay for the improvements. A federal grant is covering the balance.

The project includes repaving and installing sidewalks from Bredell Avenue to Hanley Road and installing a left turn lane at Laclede Station Road.
