Maplewood City Council will consider motions for three new restaurants and a fitness studio when it meets Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. These are some of the items on the agenda.

  • A presentation by the Sustainability Commission on the EPA Green Power Community Program. It should take about 10 minutes.
  • A request for a full liquor license for Robata Sushi, Ramen & Yakitori Grill, at 7260 Manchester Avenue. The restaurant is set to open in the former Church’s Chicken location. This will be the final reading.
  • An ordinance to allow Phil Harris to operate Tee’s 19 restaurant at 7401 Manchester Road (former Monarch restaurant). The restaurant is also set to have four golf simulators. This will be the preliminary readings.
  • An ordinance to allow Mike Klaus to operate Forward Fitness at 3111 Sutton Boulevard. This will be the preliminary readings.
  • An ordinance appropriating/transferring $50,000 to the police overtime account. The transfer is necessary due to officers responding to mutual aid requests between August and December.
  • An ordinance granting Tom Chantharasy of Robata to operate a restaurant at 7260 Manchester Avenue. This will be the final reading.
  • An ordinance allowing Kenny Lan of St. Louis Kitchen to operate a restaurant at 7325 Manchester Road (near Shop ‘n Save). This will be the final reading.
  • An ordinance to allow restaurants replacing previously existing restaurants as permitted uses within the CB1 District (the Special Business District). A new restaurant that meets these conditions would bypass planning and zoning, saving them time and money before opening. This will be tabled, to allow a future public hearing.
