Stalking, car theft, shoplifting: Maplewood blotter

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 21

  • Police were dispatched to the 7200 block of Sarah Avenue and met with the victim of stalking. The victim said that she had received numerous harassing phone calls from an old friend. This investigation is ongoing.
  • Police were dispatched to a business in the 7200 block of Manchester Road for a delayed stealing report. Upon investigation police learned that one adult male suspect stole approximately $100 worth of miscellaneous items. This investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday, Dec. 23

  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a stealing in progress call. Upon arrival, police were able to locate the adult male suspect who was in possession of approximately $300 worth of stolen grocery items and two car batteries. Through investigation police learned the suspect was wanted through five additional police agencies for stealing related offenses.

Thursday, Dec. 24

  • Police were called to an address in the 2600 block of Roseland Terrace for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival police learned that the other party involved had left prior to their arrival. On Dec. 28 the other party involved turned himself in at the Maplewood Police Department where his recollection of the incident was discussed. The suspect was later arrested for assault 3rd degree.

Saturday, Dec. 26

  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a stolen auto report. Upon arrival police made contact with the victim who said her 1995 black Toyota Camry was stolen from the parking lot.  The vehicle was later entered in to the law enforcement database as stolen. This investigation is ongoing.
