Black widow spiders were reported found in containers of grapes in grocery stores in several states, including Missouri, according to CBS News.
According to Food Safety News, stores such as Aldi had to pull all their grapes after one of the spiders was found in a Wauwatosa, WI, location.
KMOV reported that two black widow spiders were found at a St. Louis Aldi in October, which resulted in the grapes being pulled.
An associate at the Aldi in Maplewood, at 7725 Manchester Road, when asked if the spiders had been found there, said the problem had been “system-wide” in St. Louis Aldi stores, but was rectified about a month ago when the supplier was changed, along with the packaging—from enclosed plastic containers to bags.

I’d really like to understand how the problem could be “fixed” by changing the packaging from plastic boxes to plastic bags. Anyone know how that is possible?
