City of Richmond Heights reported on Facebook that one of its police officers rescued a cat stranded on Interstate 64.

A woman said on Facebook that a Richmond Heights police officer rescue a cat on the highway, but she wasn’t sure which department the officer was from. The city posted, “It’s great to see these posts about our own RHPD – in this case Officer (Bill) Becker was ‘Officer Save-a-Kitty’! He saved an orange cat from the median on I-64/40, between Brentwood and Big Bend. Well done Officer Becker!”

In June of 2015, Officer Becker visited a special summer camp to show the children a Police Department motorcycle. See photos on Facebook.

  1. Thank you, Officer Becker, for your kindness in rescuing the kitty. All of my heroes don’t wear capes!
