On April 9 Maplewood Design and Review approved plans for Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken and City Farm and Feed. The board also approved a revised design for a building addition for Robata (7260 Manchester Road) and a sign for Sole Survivor (7312 Manchester Road).

Robata is set to be a sushi, ramen and yakitori bar. It’s moving from South Grand, where the owner operated the restaurant as Sekisui. The addition is a patio on the west side of the building. Maplewood City Council has already approved the restaurant.

Sole Survivor opened last month, selling handmade leather belts, hand bags and other leather items, including Birkenstock sandals.

  1. Yet again, I’m very excited to see new restaurants putting an emphasis on outdoor seating. It goes hand in hand with Maplewood’s walkability. Hopefully a portion will be dog friendly.
