The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, August 11

  • In the early morning hours police arrested a 27-year-old man for driving while intoxicated as a result of an accident investigation in the 7500 block of Williams.
  • A window of a vehicle was broken out in the 7500 block of Sussex between 8 p.m. on Aug. 10 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 11.  Someone entered the vehicle and stole miscellaneous paperwork.
  • Between Aug. 7 and Aug. 11 a 1998 Chevrolet was reported stolen from the 7800 block of Scody. Police discovered glass in the area where the victim’s vehicle was last parked.  The vehicle was later recovered a couple blocks away in the 2500 block of Circle.

Tuesday, August 12

  • Police arrested an 18-year-old man for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police responded to an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Bellevue for a destruction of property report. Upon speaking with witnesses at the scene, a man picked up a brick and threw it through a second floor window for unknown reasons. He then fled the area in a blue passenger vehicle.

Wednesday, August 13

  • A theft of approximately $1300 was reported stolen from an apartment in the 7200 block of Anna. Police later identified a 28-year-old woman who was acquainted with the victim and arrested her on Aug. 14 for allegedly stealing the money.

Thursday, August 14

  • Police arrested a 30-year-old woman for stealing approximately $175 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident was reported in the area of Manchester and Sutton. The reporting party said an unknown box truck hit his vehicle and left the scene.

Friday, August 15

  • Police arrested a 21-year-old female employee of a business in the 3200 block of Laclede Station Road for allegedly committing an internal theft.
  • Police arrested a 57-year-old man for shoplifting merchandise from a business in the 7300 block of Manchester.
  • Police arrested a 47-year-old man for stealing approximately $125 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 36-year-old woman for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Saturday, August 16

  • A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident occurred in the 2000 block of Maplewood Commons Drive. The reporting party said an unknown silver passenger vehicle hit her vehicle as it was backing out of a parking space.  The vehicle then immediately left the scene.

Sunday, August 17

  • In the early morning hours, police received an alarm sounding call at a Maplewood Commons business. When they arrived, they discovered that the front tempered glass door of the business had been shattered. An investigation indicated that no subjects entered the business.  Police will be reviewing video surveillance in an attempt to identify the suspect(s).
  • A larceny was reported from a vehicle parked in the 2700 block of S. Big Bend. The reporting party said that someone cut the padlock of a trailer and stole approximately $1400 in property which included several televisions, game consoles, and other miscellaneous electronics.
  • Police arrested a 32-year-old man for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.  The suspect was also wanted by several other agencies for active warrants.
