Gamlin’s set to open in former Burger Champ, Elmwood in Maplewood

St. Louis Magazine reports that two former restaurant owners in the Central West End are teaming up to open Gamlin’s, a new restaurant at 2704 Sutton Boulevard, the location of the former Burger Champ, and Elmwood before that. The remnants of the Elmwood restaurant on the exterior have since been painted over.

The magazine describes the new venture as an ‘elevated neighborhood restaurant,’ set to open in early 2026. The Maplewood City Council voted on a full liquor license for Gamlin’s in its Dec. 9 meeting.

St. Louis Magazine reports the menu will consists of fresh-made pastas, steaks, chops and top-notch seafood and oysters.

  1. Central West End are teaming up to open Gamlin’s. More liquor licenses issued in Maplewood Special Business District. Good for a healthy community. What happened to the CWE? Any thoughts!
