A storefront on the 7300 block of Manchester Road may be updated, as the building’s owner hopes to gain some tenants in a space that has been empty for many years.
The door to the east goes up to the Hermann London Real Estate office. To the west one large space will be divided into two. The project is between Paramount Jewelers and The Book House.
The drawings are from the Design and Review Commission Dec. 11, 2025 report.

It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Maplewood @@@@
Nice work, MapleHood! I’m just kidding, of course. We are actually quite the nice community! Love from Wisconsin!
Mixed-use development does not seem to get any traction in the Maplewood Special Business District. St. Louis developer Alex Oliver, who has developed roughly 600 new apartments, 120,000 square feet of commercial space, feels this to be a current trend for the city of St.Louis; why not Maplewood?
That space used to be part of The Book House.
Maplewood Special Business District could use the assistance of Lighting Science. Urban lighting design can actively contribute to improving the environmental performance of cities, reducing climate-changing emissions, decreasing light pollution, and optimizing management and maintenance costs. Far from being a purely technical or decorative element, urban lighting becomes a tool for spatial equity and social security, capable of extending accessibility to urban services even at night, reducing marginalization and perceived insecurity.
Good see a building owner in Maplewood Speacial business district renovating storefronts.
