The Sutton Loop Park renovations should be complete this week, a foreman for Ideal Landscape Group said Tuesday.

The bump-out planters off the curb at each end of the park are finished, after being constructed, then broken up, then re-constructed.

The foreman said the city wasn’t happy with the finish of the original curbs of the planters. When redone, the planters were changed in size and shape, and moved closer to the street curb.

He said the redo took two workers four days and required 16 yards of concrete. Also, Ideal Landscape absorbed most of the cost. He also said they had the city inspect the redo while the concrete was still wet.

At the south end of the park will be a fountain featuring a 7,000-pound stone with holes drilled through it so water will bubble up to the top. The stone hasn’t been delivered yet.

Yoga Rocks the Park is set to use the park Saturday at 5 p.m.

A 7,000-pound stone will go in the center of these smaller stones, with water bubbling up to the top.

  1. WOW the old Sutton Bus Loop looks great! Thank you Mayor Langston. Some of us remember that it was your vision and hard work many years ago that began the process that secured the bus loop for our city. I hope that the current city hall appreciates that they would not have had a bus loop to renovate without your hard work. Good job Mayor Langston and the current city hall!
