Thefts on Weaver, Yale, Lyndover: police

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Oct. 13

  • Police arrested a 24-year-old man for disorderly conduct resulting from a police investigation of a reported disturbance in the 7100 block of Manchester Road.
  • Police arrested  a 43-year-old man for driving while intoxicated after conducting an accident investigation in the 7200 block of Manchester. The driver was also charged with driving while license revoked and no insurance.
  • A vehicle was broken into in the 7700 block of Weaver Avenue. The unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a wallet. The wallet was later recovered near West Point and Circle, however, the victim’s credit card was missing. A check of the victim’s credit account showed that the suspect made fraudulent purchases at a nearby Metrolink terminal.

Tuesday, Oct. 14

  • In the early morning hours, two unknown men were seen entering a vehicle in the 2200 block of Yale Avenue. They fled the area on foot  when confronted by the reporting party. When the reporting party checked his vehicle, he noticed his Apple iPod was missing.

Wednesday, Oct. 15

  • Police arrested a 33-year-old man in the 2500 block of S. Big Bend on domestic assault charges.  The suspect had allegedly assaulted his girlfriend at the above location.
  • A blue 1999 Ford Windstar was stolen from the 7200 block of Lyndover Avenue between 7:17 a.m. and 7:28 a.m.  The owner said he left it running for approximately five minutes and it was missing when he returned.
  • Police arrested a 51-year-old woman for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. The suspect was also charged with giving false information to an officer for lying about her name when arrested by police.
  • Police arrested a 59-year-old woman for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Thursday, Oct. 16

  • Police arrested a 21-year-old man for stealing over a thousand dollars in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.  Police are also seeking another male suspect in the theft who ran from police and fled from the parking lot in a gray vehicle. Police later identified the second suspect. Felony charges are pending through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Friday, Oct. 17

  • Police arrested a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman for a drug violation in the 7500 block of Manchester. Police responded to this location after receiving a call about suspicious drug activity involving the above individuals.
  • A door handle of a vehicle parked in the 7700 block of Folk Avenue was damaged. It did not appear that the suspect gained entry into the vehicle.

Saturday, Oct. 18

  • Police arrested a 43-year-old man for property damage in the 7400 block of Commonwealth.  The subject punctured a tire of a vehicle belonging to the reporting party.
